| As I went for a small detour to the cemetary for drinking water the weather
took a turn for the worse. I skipped a bit and walked straight to Coesfeld
station. Here I suffered a weak moment. It was raining, the weatherforecast
talked about periods with rain, interrupted by rian showers and more rain
and I found there was a train leaving for Enschede in half an hour. Though
the plan had been to walk on to Borken and Winterswijk I decided to give
in and go home. With hindsight the German weatherforecast showed as reliable as the Dutch, because a week of sunny and warm weather followed. |

 The heydays of station Coesfeld are obviously in the past. As so many German railroad stations it is certainly not suffering from too much maintenance |
