Weiwerd

Up until 1970 it was thought that the village of Weiwerd could survive
but not many people wanted to live under the smoke and threat of the approaching
industry. Homes were bought up and demolished immediately so nowadays
not much remains of the village. It's a very old village though, signs
of habitation date back 2500 years.
