All that remains in the area is planned to be restored, because
it has some monumental or historical value. Of the large factories,
especially the Bamshoeve, this is not much.
Only building to remain of several
streets houses.
Of the factory of N.J. Menko only
this storehouse with watertower remains. The smokestack belongs to
another company of which most buildings seem to be still in use.
The workmen, preparing the terrain for construction, were on lunchbreak
but left the fence open. In a bold move I cycled up to the building
and had a look inside.
The neighboring factory of J.J. Rozendaal
looks to be in a bad condition. It was surrounded by asbestos-warning
tapes (and later by workmen) so I let it be for now.
Ground floor of Menko. The entrances
were halfheartedlys blocked by construction fences.
Broken window on first floor
Hinges in place but doors are missing
in staircases
