The combined buzz of electricity and the dripping of water was
scary. Being careful not to step into pools of water or touching
anything wet I went around another corner, exiting this hallway
and to my surprise, found myself back in the big hall.
I still had not found a way to the other side of the factory grounds,
so time for a bold move. Back out the big hall, through the small
hall, out the back door, over the stream. I kept a fast but steady
pass when I walked in full view of the houses and the back road,
keeping my camera as much in view as possible. People might take
me for an innocent photographer like this, which they would not
if I started running without a camera. But I don't think anyone
saw me.
I crossed another bridge across the stream, right passed a no-entry
sign and quickly got out of sight into a collapsing small building
right next to the chimney. The not so sturdy looking room was filled
with junk. A ladder lead to the top of tank-like cement structures.
I saw some wooden boxes up there which interested me, but halfway
up this ladder I saw roof tiles balancing dangerously above my head.

Ladder and collapsing roof. |
Left this room and walked around the chimney. On the other side
is another room in bad shape. Through a hatch one can have a look
inside the chimney. A staircase leads up to a double door, which is
blocked by a board screwed across it. I tried climbing up a bit to
look trough a window, and cut my small finger on some glass. |
Chimney. |
Unlocked but collapsing room on the
right. Blocked doors at top of staircase. |
Roof is coming apart. And some nice
asbestos insulated pipes? |
From the top of the stairs. Notice
the repaired cracks in the chimney. |
That's a drawing triangle used with
blackboards. What's it doing here? |
Climbing over some junk and carts I suspected the black double door
below the staircase also locked. It was, but the padlock could be
pulled through a gap. Nice. |
Open sesame |
Inside was a dark room with a number of side passages. The first
passage was a dead end, but had a number of windows looking out into
a hall. Some of these windows were broken, but not clear enough to
climb through. |
Unexplored. |
I stood admiring the silence in the dimly lit room. Only a distant
drip drip drip of leaking water was audible. I shed my flashlight
over the relatively small room; a tank, a compressor, another a big
compressor I was standing next to, when...
RRATATATATATA...!!!
The compressor started running with a deafening noise!
Wow, that cleaned out my grease blocked arteries. |
The heart attack generator. |
