Salzwedel (2007)

The railway layout at Salzwedel is a bit complicated with state and local (Salzwedeler Kleinbahnen) railways and connections between these. The starting point of the Salzwedeler Kleinbahnen was the Kleinbahnhof (officially Bahnhof Salzwedel-Neustadt) just across the state railway station. From there the track ran south to station Altpervertor. Here a branch crossed the river Jeetze and the state railway from Oebisfelde to head west to Diesdorf while another branchline went south to Kalbe. A connection was made between this branch and the Salzwedel-Oebisfelde line near the railway viaduct.
(Salzwedeler Kleinbahnen on Wikipedia )

The remaining pictures are not in chronological order, for practical I made a different loop through Salzwedel. So don't be surprised if the weather suddenly changes between two pictures.

Here the railway to Diesdorf crosses the Salzwedel-Oebisfelde railway.

Looking south on the same spot ("Abzweig Jeetze"). The turnout and signal box have been removed but the track (to the left) to Krinau still exists
