From this point (+/- km 2.8) on towards
Hermeskeil the rails have been removed and the railroad is being turned
into a bicycle path. |
km 3 |
The primary railroad bridge has been replaced
by one suitable for bicycles. I'm not sure if the other bridge is being
repaired or cut up in pieces. |
Some interesting industrial archeology at
km 4. This smal factory once had it's own railroad connection according
to my map. |
Another detail. |
Station Grünhaus-Mertesdorf, nowadays
a "Western Restaurant". The railroad has been tarmac-ed |
Just some nice autumn colours |
Approaching Kasel at km 5.5 At least the
busstop is still named "Bahnhof". |
Spend the night near Kasel, though it was a bit difficult to find a somewhat
horizontal and out-of-sight place for the tent. The next day the 'indian
summer' was over, the weather was dreary and it didn't take long before
it started raining. |
Station Waldrach at km 7.3 |
